With both Sarah & Chris having children from previous marriages, they chose a sand ceremony. The blending of the sand represented the union not only of them but their children and families as well. As the minister explained, separate sands once poured into the unity vase can never be put back into their separate vases. They are forever entwined just as the lives and loves of the bride and groom. The children had a smaller vase each in a different color and participated in the touching ceremony as well.
